O obci - Obec - Obec Nový Poddvorov

Název dnešní obce Nového Poddvorova upomíná jméno zaniklého městečka Potvorova. Toto sídliště patřilo cisterciáckému klášteru velehradskému, jemuž papež Alexandr IV. v roce 1261 držení jeho potvrdil. Městečko mělo tvar podkovy, jako všechna stará slovanská sídliště. To vše nasvědčuje tomu, že zaniklé městečko Potvorov bylo v tu dobu významným sídlem našich předků. Do dnešní doby zůstal z této oblasti jen název trati Kosteliska.
